EIAC of TAES, as an A-class certificate of environmental impact assessment (the certificate number is 1101) holder, has the longest history of making environmental impact assessment in Tianjin. The centre has a strong environmental impact assessment technology team. Now, there are 50 environmental assessment qualification holders and 26 certified environmental assessment engineers in chemistry, metallurgy, building materials, heating power plant, agriculture, forestry, irrigation, social area, light textile industry, etc.

In the latest qualification coverage of EIAC, which is specially issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the classification of Environmental Assessment report is that, in A-class, there are chemical industry, petroleum chemistry, metallurgy, building material and heating power plant, social areas, etc. and in B-class. The Environmental assessment report is report of ordinary projects. Meanwhile, the centre is also one of the first units that were approved to assess planning environmental project, hazardous waste project, medical waste treatment equipment construction project.

In recent years, EIAC has finished the environmental assessment of the following large projects:
1.Regional EIA for Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Area (the chemical industry zone)
2.EIA for sheet metal cold rolling project of Tianjin Tiantie Metallurgy Group Armor Plate Co., Ltd.
3.EIA for the Second Set Non-aperture Steel Tube Aircrew of Tianjin Steel Tube Group.
4.EIA for the project of Tianjin North-east Suburb Power Plant
5.EIA for Tianjin Beijiang Power Plant
